1. How to build my family tree online?
First you need to register as a member and feed
precise information about with regards to name, country, religion, and
username/e-mail ID. Then you can select the type of membership you wish to
take. Username and Password will be sent to your e-mail.
Login with your username and password, which will take you to your home page.
Click on the create new family tree button. A pop up window will open, feed in
the details of the last known ancestor (descending order) first name, number of
children, genders and their names, which are compulsory; education and
professional details are optional, which may be filled in anytime. Save the
inputs, you will see the formation of your family tree. Click on the other
names and complete/extend the family tree. You can take as many intervals or
turn to complete the family tree. It is a continuous process and you can add,
delete or edit information as many times as you wish. The details of your tree
can be seen and edited only through the exclusive username/password.

2. Do we have to build the family tree in one go?
You can build the family tree at any number of
intervals and turns. As and when the information is collected, you can log-in
and build/extend your family tree.

3. Which information is compulsory?
While building the family tree the details with regards to
first name, number of children, genders & names of the children are
compulsory.

4. Do other people/members see our family tree?
By selecting the private option at the time of
registration, people searching for lost links or family information of a
particular name cannot see your family roots. However, they can send a message
to you and the decision to reveal your family tree lies solely with you.

5. Can we get online help?
Yes, you can e-mail your problems/ queries to
help@indianfamilyroots.com. We will send the solutions/clarifications as soon
as possible.

6. Can we change our password?
Yes, you can change your password in your homepage as many
times as you wish.

7. Can we retrieve our password if forgotten?
Yes, you can retrieve your password by
providing the e-mail ID entered at the time of the registration. Your new
password will be e-mailed to you immediately.

8. Can we share our user name and password?
Yes, you can share the username/password with your
cousins/family members at your own discretion.

9. Can we upgrade our membership from free to paid?
Yes, you can upgrade your free membership to Gold or Platinum
membership before the end of the limited period.

10. Can we change our status from private to public?
Yes, you can change the status by placing a request to the
Webmaster at webmaster@indianfamilyroots.com.

11. Can we delete the tree and rebuild again?
Yes, you can delete the tree and rebuild again
by placing a request to webmaster at webmaster@indianfamilyroots.com, on the
condition that the mail should come from the registrant and from the e-mail ID
entered at the time of registration. If you should want to change the e-mail ID
you can send the new e-mail ID from the old one to the Webmaster.

12. Can we add children again to parent anywhere?
Yes, you can add children/newborns anytime to any name and
build the tree.

13. Is my information submitted is given to anybody?
Information submitted by you (such as e-mail
ID/name/address) is not shared, sold/given to anybody. The personal details are
kept completely private and confidential.
